What's in v5.0?

There were several and remarkable changes in the first sheet. As you can see, the Cash on Hand Balance was removed at the beginning columns after the date. Oh speaking of the date, the dates are containing the whole name of the month so that the date today is more recognizable. Aside from that, Cash Receipts Division gained one more category because the Cash Receipts (Obligations) was split into 2 categories namely Cash Receipts (Prepayments) and Cash Receipts (Advances). The Obligations Division (v3.0) also gained one more slot for categories. Now it has 3 categories: Obligation, Prepayments, Extinguishment. To avoid conflict in names, Obligations Division was renamed into Others Division, Others Division into Miscellaneous Division; and Miscellaneous Category into Uncategorized.
Looking for the removed Cash on Hand column? The Cash on Hand was moved after the Cash Receipts Balance and like with the accrued balance of accounts in v4.0, the beginning cash balance will be manually entered in the Beginning Cash Balance cell below the Cash on Hand Balance Heading. Accrued Balances on Receivables and Payables are divided into two. I'll explain later why it was divided into two.
A major feature of v5.0 is the inclusion of Weekly Analysis Table. In this sheet, weekly totals, rates and averages are presented. The rates and Averages are described below the table. The Weekly Analysis Table is the second sheet in the CMS v5.0
The third sheet is of course the Comparison Table. Average on each amount feature was added.
The fourth and the last sheet for CMS v5.0 is the Financial Statements Sheet with the v4.0's Financial Statements and the v3.0 goal table with a new UI. The Statement of Financial Position's Receivables and Payables are no longer netted showing the month-end balances of each account. The goal table was renamed as 'Budget Plan for the Projects for the Current Month'.
At this point in time, I started to review my previous versions of CMS and see how it was improved and how each part developed. The system was better as it was updated up to v5.0.7 but I experienced some confusions or inconvenience like in the new goal table because I entered a Loss on Estimate but it is actually not part of my project proposal. Another issue is the new Weekly Analysis Table I cannot easily recognize the Divisions.
That's all for the CMS v5.0, up next is the Cash Management v6.0 E. You have seen it right it's v6.0 E. Discover the secret behind the mysterious letter after the CMS version number in my next throwback post. Stay tuned!
